Smashing Success of the Lucian Pintilie Complete Retrospective at MOMA

The Romanian Cultural Institute in New York in conjunction with the Museum of Modern Art have presented the first complete retrospective in the US on Lucian Pintilie, in the presence of the famed Romanian director himself. The retrospective, which was on display for 11 days in March, proudly saw an attendance rate of 4107 during that time.

If you missed it at MOMA, you can watch a video of the complete first retrospective:

Theatre and film actors Victor Rebengiuc and Mariana Mihuţ, long time collaborators of Lucian Pintilie, both in film and on stage, also joined this celebration in NYC. Also there was film critic and curator Mihai Chirilov, who edited a special publication for this occasion. The retrospective was presented in collaboration with the Romanian Film Festival in NYC and the Romanian National Film Center, Bucharest.
As a result of its success at MOMA, the Lucian Pintilie Retrospective will be presented in Chicago, at the Facets Cinematheque, at the beginning of May. Follow the Romanian Cultural Institute for upcoming info.
